Membership Options

Professional Membership - $250 annually
Professional members may vote and hold office.  They receive all member benefits including members-only events, reduced conference registration fees, newsletters, and legislative updates.

Criteria for Professional Membership:

  • Have responsibility for supervising special education or pupil service personnel in public, private or state agency, or
  • Hold an Illinois Professional Educators License with administrator endorsement, and/or
  • Are college faculty whose major responsibility is the professional preparation of educators or administrators of special education/pupil services.



School Law Associate Membership - $250 annually

School Law Associate members may not vote or hold office. School Law Associate members receive registration for conferences at professional membership rate. Membership provides opportunity to advertise and/or contribute to newsletters and sponsor IAASE social or conference events at additional cost.

Criteria for School Law Associate Membership:

  • Attorney who currently represents at least one Illinois school district or special education cooperative, and
  • Who does not currently represent parties with special education interests adverse to school districts.
  • These criteria apply only to the individual attorney and not to other attorneys in the members firm or with whom the member is associated.



Business Associate Membership - $250 annually

Business Associate members may not vote or hold office. Business Associate members receive registration for conferences at professional membership rate. Membership provides opportunity to advertise and/or contribute to newsletters and sponsor IAASE social or conference events at additional cost. The Business Associate will be provided information on region activities and afforded the opportunity to sponsor regional activities in exchange for the opportunity to promote products.

Criteria for Business Associate Membership:

  • Vendor, (per individual) or
    • Private individual marketing a product or service to Illinois education agencies, or
        • Business, (per individual) or
          • Corporation, (per individual).



          Retiree Membership - $100 annually

          Retired members may vote and complete a term if in office prior to retirement.  May not hold a new office. Retired members receive all benefits of professional membership.

          Criteria for Retiree Membership:

          • Was previously an IAASE professional members and retired from full-time work.
            • May be employed by or contracted with an educational institution in a part time capacity.



            Aspiring Administrator Membership - $100 annually

            Aspiring Administrator members may vote and may not hold office. Aspiring Administrator members receive all benefits of professional membership.

            Criteria for Aspiring Administrator Membership:

            • Is not in an administrative role, and
              • Is enrolled in a graduate program leading to administrative or supervisory licensure (documentation may be required).
