Welcome to the end of another successful year! How fabulous to be looking in the face of summer knowing that our students have been provided quality services by excellent teachers and service personnel. Thank you for attending and participating in our three conferences this school year. We were able to provide you with quality programming and speakers specifically designed to meet your needs. Thank you to Jimmy Gunnell and his committee for their planning and execution of quality programs.
During the summer, we are continuing to work on a number of changes and initiatives. On June 3, 2009, the Federal Committee met to pull together initial ideas and thoughts for the Reauthorization of IDEA, reviewing issues and concerns, and creating our own timeline and meeting dates to address possible changes. Aligned with this, we are looking at Reauthorization of NCLB, possible points of contention, growth models, increasing standards, and reviewing how to assist schools and districts with meeting Adequate Yearly Progress.
